About

The HR Club of CUSAT is named People’s Hub and has been functioning since early 2022 for SMS students whose interests lie in Human Resource Development. The purpose of HR club activity is to bring together the students who are interested in the field of Human Resources Management and help them develop intrapersonal and interpersonal skills needed to survive in the corporate jungle. The club aims at becoming an incubation space for future leaders through fun, education and synergic networking.

The main aims of this club include providing members with opportunities to:

  • Gain experience in the domain of HRM through games, simulations etc
  • Network with HR professionals
  • Learn from the learned.

The club organizes various activities regularly, that does not limit itself to the club members.

  • Weekly group discussions on topics ranging from The Struggles of being a female in a Patriarchal Society and The Russian War.
  • Fortnightly sessions with HR resource persons to familiarise members with the field of Human Resources.
  • Liaising for internships and part-time jobs in the field of HR for club members.

 

Tussle – The Quiz Competition

The HR Club – People’s Hub organized an engaging quiz competition, “Tussle,” on 10th September 2025, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from 11 vibrant teams. The event was designed as a single, intense round that tested the participants’ knowledge, presence of mind, and quick thinking in the HR domain. The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the spirit of learning and camaraderie that defines the People’s Hub initiatives. The winners for the quiz are;

 2nd Place –Afthab Shajahan and Snehapriya P

The event was vibrant and engaging, with participants showing great enthusiasm throughout.

Debate on Modern Work Dynamics

The HR Club hosted a compelling debate on the evolving dynamics of modern work environments, moderated by alumnus Binod Krishna Purushothaman. The debate covered key topics such as the sustainability of hybrid work models, the impact of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and the role of mental health in the workplace.
