About

The Marketing Club is a group of enthusiastic "market" minds who aim to mold all the marketing theories into practice. The Club aims to provide students an all-around experience of Management through marketing and its applications through interactions with Industrial experts and on-campus live activities. These activities aim to offer the budding marketers an opportunity for overall skill development in the domain.

Among the numerous initiatives taken by the Marketing Club, the case study competitions, guest interactions, quizzes, and some fun events have helped the students to keep their spirits up and work as a team. The sole aim of these events is to ignite the brilliant minds of the students of SMS and to offer them a real, live platform where they can exhibit their creativity and exceptional marketing skills.

The Club also makes sure to proactively engage the students with the latest trends in the industry and current changes through various social media handles and groups.

ADASTRAM CONDUCTS INAUGURAL SESSION OF THE STRATEGIC ADVERSTISING COURSE

On October 8, 2025, the Adastram Marketing Club SMS, in collaboration with the School of Management Studies (SMS), launched the inaugural session of the specialized course in "Strategic Advertising and Brand Management." This significant initiative marks a new academic partnership with industry leader Stark Communications, aimed at bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world brand strategy. The course is designed to provide SMS students with advanced, practical knowledge in developing effective advertising campaigns, comprehensive brand architectures, and managing complex marketing communications. The three-hour inaugural session was formally inaugurated by Mr. Thomas George, Associate Director – Planning at Stark Communications, who delivered the keynote address. His insights highlighted the evolving challenges in brand strategy and the absolute necessity for future managers to master integrated thinking across media and consumer touchpoints

Expert session titled "Making of a Sales Person"

On September 25, 2025, the Adastram Marketing Club SMS organized an impactful evening session titled "Making of a Sales Person" from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The keynote speaker was Mr. Ratheesh Ravi, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Skyconnect Trading & Voxxvision Ventures Pvt Ltd. Drawing upon his extensive leadership experience in driving business growth and market strategy, Mr. Ravi delivered an immersive masterclass that transcended basic selling techniques. The core of his discussion revolved around the philosophy that effective salesmanship is rooted in empathy, strategic negotiation, and a deep understanding of customer needs, not mere transactional skills. He illuminated the path for aspiring sales professionals by detailing how to build lasting client relationships, manage sales pipelines efficiently, and leverage market data to achieve ambitious revenue targets, offering tangible insights essential for a career in the dynamic B2B and B2C landscapes.

Expert talk titled "Academia to Industry - The Untold Truth”

On September 24, 2025, the Adastram Marketing Club SMS successfully hosted a highly insightful expert talk titled "Academia to Industry - The Untold Truth." The session featured Dr. Dipu Thomas Joy, Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy and Government Affairs at Flipkart, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Joy, leveraging his expertise at a leading e-commerce giant, delivered a pragmatic and unvarnished perspective on the essential transition from a business school setting to the high-stakes corporate world. He stressed that success relies not only on theoretical knowledge but critically on developing strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and effective communication skills - aspects often neglected in traditional management education. For the students of SMS, his talk provided essential guidance on how to apply analytical and management skills to solve real-world business problems in dynamic sectors, emphasizing the critical need for continuous, self-directed learning and adaptability to stay ahead in a competitive market.

EXPERT SESSION ON BUILDING SALES APTITUDE

The School recently provided its students with a hands-on session on Sales and Salesforce Management with inputs from Suryajith K, a seasoned Senior Area Sales Manager at Mars International. The session that generated huge enthusiasm, offered valuable real-world insights and learnings.

FMCG MARKETING WITH RIYA JOSEPH, GENERAL MANAGER – MEDIA AT BRITANNIA

The Placement Cell and Marketing Club successfully hosted a webinar on “Careers in FMCG Marketing” by Riya Joseph, General Manager – Media at Britannia Industries. The session offered valuable insights into advertising, media, and marketing, inspiring students to explore FMCG career paths.

 

CLUB HOSTS CISCO MARKETING HEAD

The Adastram Marketing Club hosted Joshua Mathew, Head of Marketing at Cisco India & SAARC, for an exclusive B2B Marketing 101 webinar on January 29th. Mr. Mathew shared expert insights and best practices. The webinar covered various topics: account-based marketing, content marketing for B2B, and lead generation strategies.
