About

The Speak out Club at the School of Management Studies was founded with a motive to encourage students to improve and develop their Public Speaking, and Soft Skills (add other skills if any). The club focuses on its aim to help students in refining and encouraging their oratory, as well as other communication skills of students, hence grooming them to be ready to fit themselves into the corporate shoes and for the world, as a whole.

The motive of the Club is to bring fresh ideas into the canvas through interactions and discussions among the students. The Club was successful in organizing various activities regularly to encourage students to come forward and showcase their skills in front of their mates to earn feedback and work on it. The Club is open to all and is not limited to the club members.

The Speakout Club Activities include:

  • Monthly Jam Sessions on various topics with social values.
  • Various competitions on Occasions, including Pitching and Extempore.
  • Debate Competitions on current issues within a social gathering.
  • Group Discussion session, in collaboration with the Placement Cell, to build Interview round skills in students.

The Speak out Club successfully completed an engaging and insightful Business Communication session led by the renowned orator, Anna-Karin Roo, English Instructor from University of Science and technology, China. Known for her exceptional communication skills and impactful delivery, Anna-Karin guided the participants through best practices to master business communication, techniques to enhance their professional presence and effectiveness. In this series, hosted by the Speak out Club, the participants learned essential

skills to improve clarity, persuasion, and impact in business communication.

Peer committee selection

The peer committee of Speak Out Club and Readefine Club was constituted from within the student body. The committee members are committed towards the mission of enhancing communication skills as well as creativity of the students within the SMS fraternity.
