Brief Profile

Dr. Devi Soumyaja is an Assistant Professor at School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology. She holds a masters degree in Human Resources Development and bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has been a university rank holder at both graduate and post graduate level. She has completed PhD in Management from Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Madras with UGC junior research fellowship. She is the recipient of a 2020 Kairali Award worth Rs. 25 Lakhs from the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) for her research proposal titled, !Sustainable menstruation management and menstrual cups —An exploratory study on attitude and awareness in the state of Kerala”. She has also been a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru professional and academic excellence award in 2021-22 and was affiliated with California State University for six months. She has several ABDC/Scopus indexed journal publications to her credit. She has also completed research projects granted by inter- university centre for IPR studies ,CUSAT and National Women’s Commission of India. She is also an advisory member to Women’s Studies Centre, CUSAT. She has conducted several MDPs and sessions related to HR analytics, research methodology, and gender related topics.She is a life time member of professional bodies like NIPM and ISTD.

  • Fulbright - Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship (2021-22) in Gender Studies at California State University East Bay (January 2022-July 2022).
  • Kairali award for faculty doing research in Social Sciences - 2020 by Kerala State Higher Education Council.
  • UGC Junior Research Fellowship in 2007.
